Dignity Action Day is a Day organised by the National Dignity Council with the aim to put dignity at the heart of UK by reminding everyone of the importance that respecting and caring for other people in society should be a top priority. On the 1st February 2014, Astbury Lodge Care Home in Great Sutton celebrated Dignity Action Day by hosting a selection of pamper sessions and beauty treatments for residents.

During the morning the residents were treated to a variety of beauty treatments including foot spas, manicures, facials and hand massages in an attempt to make the residents feel better. Family and friends of the residents receiving care were also invited to come along and for afternoon tea so that they residents were able to enjoy their tea and cakes with their loved ones.

The Manager of Astbury Lodge, Jenny Jobber emphasised the success of their contribution to Dignity Action Day describing it as a “special and memorable day… as everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and it is important to celebrate and uphold these values throughout the care sector.”
