Our history - celebrating AWB Textiles in healthcare and workwear sectors

Here in the second post of our two-part blog we take a look back at some of the key milestones as a healthcare clothing and workwear supplier between 1987-2015.

1987

A new factory at our Stratton site is built and opened by Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall. The new building remains to this day and now incorporates a Dickies workwear shop. Pictured above from the left: Cedric Cook, Ross Cook, Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, Dennis Cook, Mrs Cook and Bill Cook.

Late 80s into the 90s

1996

Princess Anne visits on 50th Anniversary of the formation of AWB Bent Ltd. Pictured below are current owner Cedric next to Princess Ann and Brett is at the cutting bench. Brett still works with us.

1998

Our first website launches. We recently launched our latest website… visit our new homepage.

 

2000

Cherokee medical clothing and uniforms are introduced to our range of products.

 

2011

Start to trade under the name AWB Textiles, although we remain registered as AW Bent. We also start to supply Dickies workwear.

 

2014

Dickies Xtreme Stretch range of women’s uniforms introduced to our range

 

2015

Our new AWB Textiles website showcase our healthcare clothing and workwear outfits

Our new website launches in September 2015. It features a new interface designed to make the shopping experience much easier, improved landing pages helping you to find products such as care home uniforms, the ability to easily shop some of your favourite brands, and functionality to add embroidery to your uniform or workwear as you shop.
