From starting out as hat-lining manufacturer in 1922 to the launch of our new website this month, we’re more than happy to be continually growing as a business.
Our latest development – our new website – is a great reflection of how far we’ve come over the years and what we now offer as a modern supplier of healthcare clothing and workwear to customers across the UK – from the Orkneys down to the Scilly Isles.

Having originally specialised in hospital clothing we now work with dentists, vets, care home workers and beauty therapists; while remaining a major supplier of medical clothing to the NHS.

As expectations around healthcare uniforms have changed, so have we
In many ways the change has been influenced by the popularity of medical TV and film dramas such as ER and Casualty. Patients certainly have higher expectations about how health practitioners should look and be dressed, while professionals themselves are now looking beyond traditional cuts, styles and colours.
We understand the importance of uniforms and workwear to your brand
Things have certainly changed dramatically in the way health professionals and practices now present themselves. Particularly in dentistry, where the use of colour within practices, together with relaxing pictures and even ambient music, all make a trip to the dentist a little less daunting for the patient. The increasing use of good looking scrub suit uniforms has also helped enhance the image of the profession by giving its people a professional persona. At the same time, staff are now able to wear comfortable easy care clothing that doesn’t look too institutional and comes in a wide variety of colours and styles.

We’ve embraced new clothing fabrics
New from Dickies USA is the Xtreme Stretch range of women’s uniforms that come in ten attractive colours with two styles of top and an elastic waist and boot-cut style trousers. These are produced in an innovative synthetic fabric containing rayon and spandex that stretches four ways and ensures maximum comfort. It has the added advantage of requiring little or no ironing after washing.
