Talking Scrub Suits at the AfPP Summer Residential Conference

The 9th to the 12th of August saw our sales manager Steve Salt exhibit our scrub suit ranges to the members of the AfPP (Association of Perioperative Practice) at their Summer Residential Conference at the University of York.

Over 400 delegates from the NHS and private sector hospitals met to network and take part in surgery related training lectures and courses given by some of the top people in their field.

This is a great opportunity for us to display our excellent value for money scrub suit ranges from 1st Choice, Dickies and Cherokee to the actual users of product.

We also have the chance to talk to and listen to operating department staff about what they actually want from their uniforms. The delegates were particularly impressed with the quality and feel of our premium Dickies and Cherokee scrubs which together with the addition of an embroidered logo can make a huge difference to staff morale and personal, professional self esteem.

This was the 4th annual gathering of the association in it`s current form and this event has quickly become a fixture in our calendar.

The association was previously known as the NATN (National Association of Theatre Nurses) and was founded over 50 years ago. We, as a company, are proud to have supported them and attended their annual conferences and exhibitions for almost 40 years.

As Director of Business Development, I see my role as building long term sustainable relationships with customers across all our market sectors, providing the best possible uniform solution suiting the customers image, focus and budget. Having joined the company in 1993, I have over 30 years experience in healthcare clothing and uniform covering the evolution of AWB Textiles from a soley hospital focused textile provider to the broad spectrum healthcare uniform supplier we have become today. I’m also on the national exec of the Society of Hospital Laundry and Linen Service Managers. I’m proud of the history and heritage of AWB and this drives me to provide our customers with the best possible service and the latest innovations in healthcare uniform, be it in style,  function,  fabrics or sustainability. Out of work, I love to travel ( particularly Greece and Italy ), tragically I’m a Stoke City football fan and I love to walk our little Blenheim Cavvie ‘Beau’ around our lovely local area.
